No. The rule in most places is that the first vehicle to arrive at a stop sign has the right of way period. It doesn't matter if the first vehicle to arrive is to the left or the right of the other vehicle.

Never wave somebody thru, you are liable if there is a accident. That's the OP's first mistake.

Show me that law…..it’s the vehicle operators job to know their surroundings. No different than if you back over someone because your ground guide says your good or motions you back it’s on you not the ground guide

I don't agree, the ground guide is just as responsible .and will be named in the suit.
    Believe what you want.

This has been my theory at 4 way stops. Go in order of arrival, unless two of you arrive at the same time. In that case the car to the right goes first. In the event that you are across from each other at the same time. The car going straight has the right of way. If it gets more complicated than that, you just decide when you want to go, and proceed with confidence. If someone tries to be polite and wave you through first even though they have the right of way, it will probably get awkward and mean stop and go and frustration for you, but at least they tried to be nice.

The procedure is clearly written in every drivers manual in every state, and they are all the same on this subject (I think).

So you don't need a theory, you just need to read.

Sorry dude, I asked several people here, all law enforcement, traffic enforcement to be exact and they all said it is about courtisy, not the law, it has been an unwritten rule that the person on the right has the right away, but it isn't a law, just common sense. The law says the first one who causes the accident is at fault, I just wish there was a law about common sense, we need to get stupid drivers off the road.

So you ask law enforcement and they tell you it's about courtesy, not traffic laws?? Smells funny
