Traffic School

Do you have a CDL and from California ? If your answer is yes and yes, DMV does NOT recognized your proof of traffic school. You threw your money out the window. Im surprise the courts didn't tell you this.... They probably needed your money since the state is BROKE.

 

Just got a speeding ticket last week in a rental car here in San Antonio. 10 over. I didn't realize that you usually can't do defensive driving if you have a CDL... I did it here in TX in 1999 or 2000, must be a fairly recent change.

I talked to the folks at DD and they told that the judge CAN allow a CDL holder to take defensive driving, but you have to have the court's permission (just like with regular drivers)... I'm certainly going to ask when I go in - it's a $152.00 ticket, and I don't want the offense to hit my MWR.

 

If the court authorizes the removal then it will disappear...however, what does show is the fact that you satisfied the citation with traffic school...that does stay on your DMV...how long, couldn't say.

If you are applying to get a job with a CDL (Commercial Drivers License)...until you see your DMV print out and that it had been removed...always include the violation on any application. One violation, as long as it isn't DUI, Careless, or Reckless...the honesty you present about your record should not be a problem.

 

It's been ineffect bout 8 or so yrs I believe. Even if you get the violation in your personal vehicle, long as you have a CDL, no more traffic school.

 

I know what your saying...but the "Trucker" place says "wanna be" on his info box is what I was going by.

 

Didn't see that..... I was bored haven't pulled a load in a couple of days and wanted to jump on the topic.... Haven't seen nothing exciting on here the last two days, so I was on the edge........
