Actually I just looked up my file on the overweight ticket, I was actually 2,000 lbs over, not 1,500 ;-)

This is a good point. I live in California have 20 months in OTR in the 48 and have broken lots of laws lots of times for an extra few hundred bucks that week. I am currently behind on bills and the feel I have now, especially in CA, I am running totally legal and it's costing me money. I got a level 2 clean in WA somehow no comment, got a weight warning in OR after fueling, got pulled in in Shasta for being 42.5 kprh. I can't risk it. Even PA on a Saturday night on the 80 West I don't think with a 3 year old I'm taking anymore risks. And this person's right-it can become expected so that it becomes a sin with repurcussions (short runs) to say no.

It was $150. But the DOT officer told me if I called the local court office they would reduce it to $75. They did.

He was really nice to me, then again so was I to him ;-)

5th wheel does nothing for the trailer. ONly drives and steers.

When I was a kid I used to ride with my grandpa, dad, or uncle over summer break. I was with my Uncle Rick one time when we got pulled in at Blythe, the officer held the tape at the kingpin AND gave Uncle Rick the housing lmao.
