If you were trying to get through West Monroe, La yesterday ( 4/18/17) morning, no doubt you know there was a backup which took 2 or 3 hours to get through.

A trailer on the move, collapsed while headed east at exit 115. Fortunately, there was someone with a dash cam running right behind the truck when it happened. The video was posted on one of our local TV stations Facebook page.
There's not much here in the news story but here is a link anyway.

I don't think he/she will be dragging that off to the side.

Is Landstar all O/O? Asking because I'm wondering whose ### is going to be in a sling over that. Driver's insurance? Landstar's?

Edit: got the trailer name wrong. Sorry. Thanks to those who pointed it out. I guess I really do need a reset. Lol

Its a two fiddy or tree fiddy. Tail lights are wrong for a one fiddy.

Lepton1 and Bean Jr. Thank this.

Dry vans are a rigid system that requires every part of the system is good, otherwise they fold up like a house of cards. Any damage in the lower rail or sides of the trailer, combined with a heavy load that's centered (like beer), and POOF... down she goes.

Another example is standing on an empty Coke can. It can be done until you put a dent in the side.

You can bet it was also probably a 45k+ load and somehow concentrated in the middle of the trailer. Notice how the trailer had the tandems slid as far forward as they will go in an effort to minimize collapse risk, but the load was too heavy and still too concentrated.

Sure would like to know what it was and how they loaded it and why they (driver & shipper collaboration) loaded it the way they did. I bet it was maybe on 1 or 2 pallets and they laid down empty pallets in the front to distribute that weight back and keep it from sliding forward.

Looks like it was a buckle in the road because the car later bounced over what did in the trailer.

    Louisiana ... enough said.
