A dragging brake won't cause the trailer to "dog leg" and if it was dragging enough to drop your mileage it would catch fire, you have another problem; possibly a broken suspension component or extremely worn bushings.
-
You also have another problem.
If you are legally certified to adjust brakes on 18 wheelers and carry such a card allowing you to say at the scales to do it... then great. IF you do not possess this training, then only a certified mechanic can go under and touch those braking systems and whatever else as necessary to fix the dog leg.
The trailer must not be towed or driven until the dogleg problem is fixed. There could be a thousand sources of that problem. A dab of brake show isnt going to fix it. -
Adjust all 4 brakes and see what happens. Loosening ONE is absurd.

Ever who did the trailer alignment did a bad job. It's not a brake related

Ive had a mess of onery trailers in my time but those are usually idiot proof problems like outright bent rails and such.
