    Hi guys
I have 2013 trailer and trailer always go to the right, I took it to the shop and replace the spring break valve because was leaking also done alignment , but I still have the same problem, I did an inspection of the brake system and found out the brake shoe touching the drum a little bit, then I adjusted the slack to make off, then I continue drive the trailer drive straight and my full mileages went up from 6.5 to 8 mpg but because I have auto slack adjuster , the problem come back again

Now Im wonder do i have bad slack adjuster or brake chamber or what, please guys, I need help

A dragging brake won't cause the trailer to "dog leg" and if it was dragging enough to drop your mileage it would catch fire, you have another problem; possibly a broken suspension component or extremely worn bushings.

    You also have another problem.

If you are legally certified to adjust brakes on 18 wheelers and carry such a card allowing you to say at the scales to do it... then great. IF you do not possess this training, then only a certified mechanic can go under and touch those braking systems and whatever else as necessary to fix the dog leg.

The trailer must not be towed or driven until the dogleg problem is fixed. There could be a thousand sources of that problem. A dab of brake show isnt going to fix it.

Adjust all 4 brakes and see what happens. Loosening ONE is absurd.

Ever who did the trailer alignment did a bad job. It's not a brake related

Yes you have a bad adjuster, get it replaced or better yet get ALL OF THEM replaced at the same time.

I don't either believe it or not. Im just being very cautious here.

Ive had a mess of onery trailers in my time but those are usually idiot proof problems like outright bent rails and such.

    Lepton1 and 201 Thank this.
