Trailer dog-legging because the brakes

    Hi guys
    I have 2013 trailer and trailer always go to the right, I took it to the shop and replace the spring break valve because was leaking also done alignment , but I still have the same problem, I did an inspection for the trailer brake system and found out the brake shoe touching the drum a little bit, then I adjusted the slack to make off, then I continue drive the trailer drive straight and my full mileages went up from 6.5 to 8 mpg but because I have auto slack adjuster , the problem come back again

    Now Im wonder do i have bad slack adjuster or brake chamber or what, please guys, I need help

    You’ve got one or a combination of:
    1: brake chamber cut to the wrong length or bent.
    2: worn s-cam and bushings.
    3: bent or worn Clevis or pins.

    Set your trailer brakes and take a picture of the chamber, slack adjuster, & s-cam. Take a pic of the one your having a problem with and a pic of the

    Set your trailer brakes and take a picture of the chamber, slack adjuster, & s-cam. Take a pic of the one your having a problem with and a pic of the other side that’s not giving you problems. Post them here and we might be able to pin point it.

    Your brake issue is not going to affect tracking. If your trailer truly is crooked, you still have an alignment issue. Have you checked the truck? Sometimes it can look off from the cab. Have someone follow it to get a second opinion on its travel in level lane.

    Ok.......let me rephrase. If it does track or move while braking, you have loose or moving suspension components that were not repaired before the trailer was aligned.
