i dont know how this happens but.. i have seen a traller fall of a 5th wheel when a driver was turning from the parking lot to on the road...
-
I did it once by mistke. Just forgot. Another driver told me on the cb. I immediately pu;;ed over and closed my door. It is a fine here in Ontario.

If the roll up door is fastened in the upright position and the freight in the trailer is secured then I think it would be legal as it would be no different than a flatbed at that point. Also, if the trailer is empty and again the door is fastened up I think it would be ok. However, I would not do it. Seems just plain lazy to me not to close the door.

if pepsi catches that driver doing that he will get canned no second chances done. as yes i have seen the trailer fall off the fifth wheel had the driver did the tug test to see if it was attached then i wouldnt have happened
-
yes he would.. we had a driver that was canned for not poping the hood of his truck for a pre trip ya he shod have but we now know we are spyed on for pre trips

Think it was 2 summers ago, going across MS 302. Roll up door came open and cases of beer stretched about a quarter mile. Dang, but there were to many cops around to pull over and grab some.
To make things even worse, they were all on roll around racks!!!!!
-
Is it legal???? C'mon man, I can't believe you would even have to ask.
Think load securement. Lose something and hurt someone and you will be rejoining the unemployed after you get out of jail.Wargames Thanks this. -

My old boss picked up a pallet jack one time, laying on the side of the road. He said a LTL guy was driving down the road with the rollup open, and he watched it roll out. The driver didn't have a clue, just kept going.
Wargames Thanks this.
