    Hello comrades
We are a small carrier, had a delivery for live unload on Sunday, when we arrived the receiver asked us to drop the trailer, we notified the broker and they advised to drop, and it will be empty in couple of days, it has been over 3 days, the trailer is still not touched and they are not willing to pay the layover charges what we are asking for. We can leave the facility with our trailer loaded. Any advise, what are my options here? How do we minimize our losses and get paid?
We are thinking to bring the load back to Los Angeles, CA

What is the layover you are asking?

What does the contract (rate con) you signed state? If you didn't put it in the contract, then no money is legally owed....

Happened to me pulling a load for a reputable Broker . It was a Home Depot DC with a load of tool Boxes , I explained the situation and was told 1 day to unload and of course 1 turned to 3 days . Snuck back into facility past security and hooked up to trailer and walked inside and asked to speak to someone in charge , told them I have my trailer with your merchandise and Im not unhooking unless you find me a dock . I was prepared to leave or call the cops if security wanted to get Froggy , they relented and unloaded me in 30 minutes . Never got paid for the mistake but Im definitely wiser to how to deal with this type of situation .

These threads always make me so happy with my flatbed. Rates may not have mooned for flats like they did dry vans or reefers but I put up with so much less ########.
