So I had looked into getting my trailer set up with a lift axle but said it would only be 2" of ground. Has anyone done this and how many times did it ruin your tires on an OTR situation? 2 Inches seems to be a little to low and would think you would ruin some tires? Your thoughts?
Trailer Lift Axle Only 2" Clearance, what is your experience?

@rollin coal can tell you how it worked out for him.

That doesn’t seem right, based on what I see going down the road.
On a side note, I wonder if you can adjust the ride-height valve to run the trailer at a higher height? -
You’re going to have flat spots on your lift axle tires with only 2” of clearance. When you hit a bump with the lift axle up the tires will hit the pavement.

I wouldn’t spend the time and money for 2” of lift. The tires will scrub every bump and bridge you hit.
I’m curious why they’re saying only 2 inches. Here’s the factory lift on one of ours.

I’ll measure mine in the morning. Pretty sure it’s more than 2” but mine do hit the ground from time to time on turns. When the lifted tires do hit the ground they just spin so I don’t see flat spots.
