would anybody be able to tell me how much an empty 48'x102" flatbed full aluminum trailer would weigh? I guess we should account for a couple of tool boxes full of tarps, chains, binders and such...

Depends on the manufacturer, but assuming that you are speccing aluminum wheels you start with a bare trailer at about 9500 pounds and go up from there to up to 11,000 for the bare trailer. Estimate in the weight of the chains and boxes, straps and winches from there, but the lightest weight for a fully loaded out trailer is going to be close to 10-10.5 k. Add in some if you have a headboard on the trailer, if not add the weight of a headache rack to the truck weight.
