Looking at a 2008 mac all aluminum 53 x 102. Never had all aluminum but they have a great arch in them still. Question is can I still get several years of service out of a 2008 model. 2nd is it has a manual dump valve that dumps both axles. Dont see the purpose for this. Please enlighten me. And is $25,000 out the door with new tires brakes and drums a fair price. Sounds good to me.

    cke Thanks this.

99% of all freight will fit on a 48'
Aluminum cracks easyer and is more expensive to repair and harder.

Ive always heard great reviews on mac trailers. With a dump valve to reduce stress I would think they would do good.

The dump valve is for when you unhook, that way if the air would leak out of the bags it won't push against the landing gear,

I use the double dump valve for when they are lifting off a big coil or something? It doesn’t stress the bags when they pull all the weight at once with a crane.

    Mac has a great reputation.

Way easier on shocks etc when unloading abd loading. Nice when rear unloading too when the forktruck is going off and on. Dump the truck and trailer suspension and let everything settle down. Foolish to disable it imo. No downside to it.

I have a 1995 aluminum. I see no reason why you won’t get a couple more decades out of that if not a lifetime. Mac I have heard makes top shelf flats.

^^ this. You can add a rear dump w electric control for the right turns without disabling the standard dump.
