Hi all. I am hear every day but don't post much. I pull a flat bed and deliver to small lumber yards with tight turns and my road has a tight turn around on it. Every winter at least a couple times I make a turn tight enough to kink ussually my red line and cause it to leak. I carry new ferrels and it only takes a couple minutes to fix. It is not a big deal but it gets to be a pain. I put new lines on every couple years. I use the coiled lines. My gap between the back of cab and front of the trailer is not long enough that I would need a pogo stick. I have thought about the non-coiled lines but I would have to use a pogo stick to keep them off the deck plate.
What am I doing wrong? What are you using? Is there a swivel the would rotate horizontally that would work.
Every time I fix it I loose about 1.5" and that doesn't help.

    Thanks Mike

Do you have the spring that goes over the line from the glad hand?

Do you have a slide bar?
They make a retractable deal that bolts to back of the truck, don't remember the name of it.

    9200 IH Thanks this.

Plastic+cold weather+kinks is not a good combo. Rubber airline would likely be better suited.

I have rubber lines on my truck now way better then the plastic lines... Plastic ones get brittle in the cold weather... If you want rubber lines and are worried about them touching the deck plate just run them through the center of the electrical line. I have a pogo stick on my truck and the lines are a little long so this is why I did and I don't have a problem with the deck plate....

If I were you I would go with rubber lines and do what I mentioned.. Worst case you get a pogo stick as well which woulds great.... Or like someone mentioned if you have a slide bar on the back of the cap get the springs that attach to that and run the lines from there... Either way I'd suggest rubber lines....

Thanks for all the info. I do have a slide bar on the back of the truck. I am thinking about going with rubber lines. I have never checked into them before. Can you have them made up with the proper rated hose or do you have to buy pre made sets? It was -8 one day this week, every turn I made I thought about my air lines. It is time for a change.
    Thanks Mike

I'm sure you can probably have them made to length but I am not sure... My work buys them pre-made and I find them to be a bit long but that is why I feed my through my electrical line since it's coiled. You gotta have them longer which is why a slide bar or pogo stick is good, since they do not extend longer like the coiled crappy airlines... I still rather have the rubber lines even though you gotta deal with the length of them. You can probably find a company around to make them to length..
