BTW, someone commented about singling out a tire and keep on going, that's actually not allowed. Most of the larger tire shops, and many of the smaller ones, will not single it out, UNLESS, you can specifically prove that the singled out tire will meet the weight requirements, even if empty, that it's supposed to meet.

If it's an outside tire, it's pretty easy to single out...done it before with a combination wrench and a claw hammer. These days, I have a pair of 30" tire spoons in my side box which makes it a snap to DIY.

I have made it to a tire shop or truckstop quite a few times. Is it doable? -Yes. Is it 100% safe? -No. But if the cop catches you driving with a flat you will get an out of service. Unless the shop is right there and a cop is having a very good day.

I had a place I worked for in ND in the oil fields give me a trailer with a bad tire in the middle of 6 well pad frac. I didn't wanna lose out on the loads waiting to get a new tire at the shop, it was behind 3 days. SO.... I just risked it and drove on it. IN the middle of the patch there are so few people especially at night I knew I wouldn't see the law or other people who weren't running from the rail yard to the frac site. SO.... I ran it....and ran it...and ran it....Until the frac was over and I just forgot lol

Then next, they gave me a run from Montana state line back to ND and sure enough the minute I crossed into MT a bear was sitting there with radar. In ND its 70 mph all day and night (everyone does 75-80) for trucks on hwy 2. Once you cross into MT it drops to 65 in day and 55 at night. And you better not go a mile over.

Long story short, here I come doing 75 on cruise going to get loaded and.... bam! Got me. Nice enough guy. Gave me a warning and said time for inspection. Called me to the back of the trailer and looked at the tire and looked at me and said "seriously....?". I just laughed and said what ever ticket you give me I have earned it fair and square....hahaha and chuckled.
He understood what getting something fixed in ND was like so he let the speeding go but wrote me for bad trailer tire and let me drive off.

I would of NEVER drove with a tire like that on an interstate of around the public...But the night shift in the patch is a lawless land lol

tire looked like a racing slick hahahahaha
