Hey guys I have been driving for 4 months and have had 3 trailer tires blow-out on me. It's always the inner trailer tires. Never the same set. I check them every time I stop. I havent run over anything, and I'm not driving crazy. Please any suggestions why this might be happening or something I should be doing differently?

I don't understand how you can have trailer tires blow up and then say they are the inner drive tires. We are dealing with two sets of tires here or just the one?

If you are just a company driver then your company will be the one tossing tires on there and if they are mismatched then boom. If it's too hot boom. If it's overloaded boom. IF its 9 year old dry rotted spares from the pile boom. IF it's a container tire GUARANTEED KABOOMM.

Sorry still new to driving. Maybe used the wrong term. It's my inside trailer tires. I am a company drive, and I do have mismatched tires. Just panicking because it's already happened to me so often. Boss is telling me no one else has blow a trailer tire in over a year and I must be doing something to have 3 already.

Are you jumping curbs a lot? That certainly doesn’t do them any favors, and it’s worse when you’re loaded.

mismatched tires, under inflated tires, nails, or other debris in the tires, bad recaps, bad sidewalls/casings, even over inflated tires can cause this. you need to get a REAL truck tire air gauge, and check the air pressures at least weekly. check with the shop or any label on the trailer for proper inflation specs.

Nope. No curb hopping. And haven't run over anything that might cause a blowout.

You check them? With a kick? Hammer? Air guage? Don’t tell me you check them with an air guage every time you stop. I know better. They were either ran low, or your Boss might be putting vulnerable tires on the inside, hiding from visual scrutiny. I’ve heard of such things,(ahem).Could be coincidence. My tire luck always runs in 3s. Never fails. Haven’t had a problem in a few months. But a flat will come up soon, then a blowout, then a road hazard, or another flat. Till 3 tires are either repaired or replaced, never fails. Law of averages comes into play, you have 18 tires. That’s enough to make the averages inconsistent. My guess is your Boss is a cheapskate or just giving you a hard time. Things happen all the time. What are the chances? Who knows anything can happen.

I check with a hammer. Though I will definitely buy a gauge.
