Hello,
Ok, not sure if this is the correct forum, But, this company only does O/Os, soooo.
Went to GATS last month and met with this company, among others, and other driving situations.
Any info on them? The way I understand it, you provide the tractor ONLY and pick-up and deliver the shippers pre-loaded trailer to the consignee.
Anyone know of this company or this TYPE of driver situation???
Sounded good, BUT????
Thank you in advance
Trailer Transit Inc???

I've know a guy leased to them he's been there a few years.
I don't know how well he is doing because he doesn't want to work hard anymore.
I know he has pulled all different types of trailers, Frak tanks, circus, amusement rides. They'll basically pull any type of trailer a customer needs to be moved.
Another company that does this is Moving Performance out of Apache Junction AZ.. They also do a lot of entertainment tour's during the concert touring busy season.
Hope this helps.
PS. Guy I know at Trailer Transit was thinking about going to Moving Performance.All-American82 Thanks this. -
I have been leased to Trailer Transit for the last 13 of the 40 years I have been an owner-operator. To answer some of your questions from someone who has been there.
We haul all types of semi trailers. New from manufacturer, reposition trailers for dealers (new and used), for companies like Penske and Ryder etc. That is the portion of the business that is constant but doesn't pay as well as the other half of the business. That is time sensitive show loads. Generators to power TV broadcasts, portable stages for out door events, Broadway shows, rock concerts, Disney on Ice, Ringling Bros Circus.
In short empty trailers get us to the higher paying time sensitive loaded trailers.
Pay is 71% of the line haul to the driver, check with our recruiter (we only have 1, she has been with us for 15+years.) for full details.
Power only isn't for everyone, and there are numerous companies in the same business. There are differences between them, business models differ as do pay methods.
Trailer Transit is the largest and has been around the longest. Our driver turnover is something lessthan 25%. Most of the drivers have 20+ years experience when they come and stay until they retire for good. I am happy here, but I am sure you can find drivers that curse them.
PM me if you have any other questions -

Their red headed stepchild is power source out of Gary. Best gig was 2.50 a mile pulling a union welding show trailer for three weeks . Get an electric brake so you can pull things like that . Circus is cool , best job is permanent lead so that's all you do. I think empty new trailers paid like eighty cents a mile and there are some old junk trailers that you may need to wire up yourself to get them going

I tried the power only game (leased to Power Source) it is different lots of variety but I thought the money was weak it paid the bills but really only cleared driver money. Now lets define the catch phrase of PO guys " it is not for everybody" means you are expected to stay out for months at a time and get used to hooking up to junk trailers (used trailers for dealer moves) and lots of unpaid deadhead miles ( normally right after a good paying move) - now lets talk about "stress free lifestyle" a selling point that got me to give it a try, yeah sure on the cheap moves but on moves that paid well it was scheduled just like normal freight sometimes kinda tight so IMHO to many downsides to bother sticking around.

Hi we are looking into moving to Trailer Transit but wanted to get info on people that are there or have been there rather than hearsay. Since freight has slowed down, I just want to know if it has for TT? Are there a lot of dead head miles? Are you sitting longer than a day to get a load after delivery? Are you just surviving or are you able to make a good living? Please be honest. This move could make or break us. Thank you for your help!

TT is not much different that any of the companies in power only. Some specialize in only moving new trailers, some load new trailers to move them for the customer. TT and Power Source are nearly identical in their business model, which includes the time sensitive and expensive moves paying percentage, instead of straight mileage pay.
The post from Mr. Thompson above was accurate. Most of our drivers have 25 yrs + in the trucking business, tired of the bs with hauling freight, don't need to run that hard and are happy with the conditions and money. But if generating a constant flow of revenue is important, power only is not the place to do it. There is no such thing as 20 loads a week of toilet paper from Green Bay Wi to Atlanta GA in this business. It is not freight hauling.kbarttt and Dale thompson Thank this. -
Thank you for your input. He's been in power only for 4 years but has been driving for 16. He's been an O/O for 6 of those years and has hauled just about anything you can think of. But with power only (AMT Power) he always has to go elsewhere to make ends meet in the winter time due to the seasonal moving vans, show equip., etc.. only running basically April-October. I can see why power only isn't the real way to go especially for continued revenue. We are looking into aquiring his own authority now, there is quite a bit involved and we know it don't happen overnight. He does have a $1700.00 truck payment and this company he is with now is NOT and has been anywhere close to what they portrayed to be. They promised a whole slew of bs. He took it with a grain of salt and did his job very well and always treats everyone with respect. In fact, he has never turned down a load due to location and is always early or on time with his deliveries, but when asked for help getting a repair (clutch went out) they said no and if he didn't like it to go elsewhere. This is the very first time and company he's ever been with that has ever treated him in that manner. (Circle Logistics) I wouldn't recommend them to anyone! At any rate, thanks again I appreciate the honesty!

I was with power source for a minute I feel your pain
