    The problem is,in those 4 minutes that train has probably already traveled 3 1/2 to 4 miles,and it takes about 1 to 2 miles to bring a train to a stop-and that’s if the engineer throws it into emergency mode!
    It was already too late to call if you hear the whistle!!

    Watched it again multiple times. The truck was coming from the other direction. There is no picture of the trailer because it was not in front of the cars but on the other side of the tracks. Dash cam video from a car directly behind the trailer would have been valuable.

    Fire chief said it was lucky that the train didn’t derail because the cars were full of diesel. Didn’t know they hauled diesel in those bulk tank cars.

    Diesel,gasoline-pretty much if it’s petrochemical related it can be hauled.

    those bulk tank cars do not haul liquids. They haul anything from ag products to plastic pellets to chemicals and more.
