    Hey guys,

So I'm a total noob here, leaving the IT field for trucking. I was trying to decide between Roehl, Prime, and Schneider. I think I'm gonna go with Schneider, but I have some questions about them and Trainco. Signing up with schneider would be a lot different than the other 2 companies. As far as I can tell, with Roehl and Prime you go to one of their Terminals and this is where you train, then the final phase is doing OTR with a trainer. Well, with Schneider they're telling me I will go to Trainco which is 45 minutes from me for 4 weeks, then orientation in Phoenix at the Schneider terminal for 3 weeks. What I want to know is what will Trainco school consist of? I can't find any info on this school online. From the sound of it, I wouldn't be doing OTR with a trainer, it would all be local and yard driving. All I want to know is what each week will look like in their program. And I would also like to know what Schneider orientation will consist of as well each week.

If anyone can provide some insight on these 2 things I really appreciate it.

What the heck is Trainco? Not something you pay for is it?

Trainco is a PREFERRED LOCATION for Schneider Trucking. This is a four-week program with a guaranteed job upon successful completion of the class and CDL exam.
If qualified, Schneider will pay for the training – and they require a ONE-Year commitment at Schneider National.

Thanks for this - learn something new every day. Hard for me to imagine anyone paying for training with all of the free programs around....Schneider has/had a training facility in Charlotte, NC....

Schneider is ok if you go tanker division (Schneider Bulk).
You can make more money with other companies, unless you go with Schneider Bulk
Freymiller will reimburse the tuition at Trainco, directly back to you in monthly installments.

Alot of good info you're providing. I'm retired on disability after 42 years in trucking and trucking related industries. Alot of spare time all of the sudden. Too hot to work outside at the moment...

I did 30 years OTR, then retired to Las Vegas. Love it here. Plenty of time to be on this forum and hopefully help the new drivers.
When we moved from Tennessee, it came down to Austin, TX or Las Vegas,NV.

I left Austin long ago - keep'em guessing. Living on East Coast now. Last time in your area was in Henderson - Las Vegas about 5 years ago while on the job. Last Day at work was January, 2017. Surgery, physical therapy and legal proceedings followed. Short Term MMI last July with no other w/c related surgery through Medicare before February, 2020 per the legal agreement. Still adjusting!?!? Just trying to give my insight for what its worth here at TR.
