email I got today, after I applied
No up-front costs. Tuition is deducted from your salary every month for the first year until the full $2,995 tuition is paid at 18% interest. If you stay for at least three years, they will write you a check for a $1000 reimbursement.
The company will pay for your transportation to the training facility and for your housing once you're there. You will be responsible for living expenses (food, laundry, entertainment) and the cost of the license itself (around $65).
Training locations in Burns Harbor, IN; Dallas, TX; Fontana, CA; Salt Lake City, UT
Applicants attend a three to four week CDL course
30 days of OTR training with a driver trainer that pays $430 per week ($61.43 per day)#
Pay per mile on a sliding scale based off of the length of a haul. From $.25 to $.40 per mile.
As you can see, they pay for your transportation and housing, so even if you don't live close to one of their training centers, it's not a problem. They're also one of the few companies to offer paid OTR training. Because you completed the Headstart form, you don't have to worry about submitting your own application, I'll take care of that for you. You can expect a call from CREngland to schedule your training within just a few business days.
Trainee/job offer from CREngland. Thoughts?

I got my CDL through England. Run screaming.
-
without abandon!
If you can be a company driver without any financial hooks then do it, you will get your CDL follow the advice of ramkatral if they want to get you into a lease purchase thing.
It will ruin your life, srsly.
Flip burgers, at least you get free lunch. -
I wouldn't drive for them as a company driver either.
-
I see another wannabee getting suc... into a lease contract. oh my..........
-
This should constitute false & deceptive advertising !! -
Run for your life.
-
Run as Fast as you Can when England tried to HIRE me a person with EPILEPSY to Drive a truck and I told them I had Epilespy they were still going to get me a CDL and put me on the road. That tell you anything.
-
Do not sign truck lease whatever you do, if you have to work for cr then do it as a company driver. However If you would just do a few hours of research on your own and not go by what some slick snake of a recruiter is telling you then you will see there are better choices.
IMO you are sitting your self up for failure if you go with cr england.
BTW hoss7071 your completely false when you say(They're also one of the few companies to offer paid OTR training.) That is simply not true.Last edited: Apr 19, 2012

I generally dont hear nearly as many complaints about training at Schneider as I do others. Just my observation.
