I now have my CDL with all endorsements, and I'm working through the paperwork process to see if Prime will allow me on board.

Is it possible or practical to try to 'pre-screen' trainers before arrival, or should I just wait and see what turns up after I get to SPRIMO?

    Thanks!

Well, first I need to find out if it is possible (which I did by asking here) :)

I'm interested in FB, but I'm thinking that reefer will get me out of the trainer's truck a bit sooner. I'm not too keen on the small space and 2 people.

Only one flatbed trained trainer on the board, and thats AMA. U2 is a trainer on the reefer side. Only 2 regular posters that train as far as know. Reefer will get you off the truck sooner, into a cute truck. Flatbed will take longer to finish training. Just dont get the miles built up as fast over here.

'Cute' truck is perfect, since it comes with a $0.05 / mile bonus.

Thats good. Reefer will get you miles faster. FB takes time to secure/tarp.

but hauling reefer is easy. FB you really have a lot to learn then are a more valuable commidity in the industry. FB pays better so look at the long term objectives 5 years from now an extra $1000 is long gone compared to the $10000 more you will make on a FB with more time off
I run reefer but I am old and paid my dues long ago Gimmie all the comfort less money and only a couple of docks to bump

Right now I need the cash, and experience. So I have to maximize my miles opportunities. I'd rather have the physical exercise and critical thinking activities involved with FB, but I can't afford to do it right now...
