Hey fellow truckers, I've been driving for a couple years now and my fiancee is interested in trucking. She has a master's and what not but the work field had been a pain in the neck for her. She isn't against driving and would be willing to go out on the road as she has spent some time out there with me before. I'm local now with a little over 2 years experience. I was wondering if she went to a driving school, if there are any companies that would still hire us as a team and basically allow me to train her as we go along. I've never heard of that before but I feel like that would be a great way to save for a home and whatnot. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Training but not actually a trainer

If you both signed up with the company I think they will train you separately and then you could team together after your training
Rock 'n Roll Relocater and RecruiterNancy Thank this. -
I've never been a company driver so I'm not sure how it works
It's best to call the company and ask themjfred2 Thanks this. -
Depends on how long you have been a local driver. Most companies after a certain period of time local will at least make you do a refresher course.
jfred2 Thanks this. -
I was on the road for about a year and 3 months and went straight in to local work. I have been local for just over a year. I'd be willing to do a refresher, but going back on the road would be refreshing compared to some of these nyc local stops lol.

Conway Truckload I think will. I'm sorry XPO now. When I was there over a year ago, there were some husband and wife teams that I talked to that the wife trained the husband how to drive. I think they require you to have at least 200,000 miles or so to train there. You would have to call though to confirm. They hear the word TEAM and you go right to the top they love teams

Earl Henderson Trucking might work.
You could start there now as an experienced driver, then when your wife finishes classroom training there, can go on the road with you as her trainer.Rock 'n Roll Relocater and jfred2 Thank this. -
Nyc and jersey can both get annoying for sure. I'll look into Conway (xpo), thanks for the input. I still have a good 7 months until I want to go through with this idea so if I haven't reached that mileage yet hopefully I can get there. I took the local job for us to have more time together so I look forward to us spending some time out there
