I spoke with a Swift recruiter today by the name of Sonya, seems like a pretty nice lady, anyways i live in california and she said I would need to go to the school in Phoenix to get my cdl. But i have seen people on here talking about going to school in Fontana? It makes more sense to me if I could go there, but I'm not sure why she would want to send me to Phoenix? Any ideas?
Thanks.
Training in Phoenix or Fontana?

If it was me I would go to Fontana because it may be cooler outside. Does Fontana train there? Seems to me the place is way too small for this. I did see some student trucks there.
But Phoenix has more things to do. The drivers lounge is a nice place and the Jake Brake cafe has decent food. -
I just graduated from the Phoenix academy this week, and we had a few guys from Cali, one was from the bay area.. I'm not 100%, but they may send you out here to Phx.. If they do, be sure to bring a hat and suntan lotion, as we are now in the 100*+ temps, and standing on the range will be a killer..
The instructors out here in Phx are great, im sure you wont be dissapointed..
Good luck !! -
it all depends on what your doing from my understanding is fontana only has orientation there and all people going to school to get there cdl get shiped off to pheonix for schooling

Yeah i will be going to get my CDL, I don't mind going to Phoenix, I'd rather go to fontana though because the less time i spend on a greyhound bus the better...And yeah heat isn't exactly my favorite thing to be in. Living in Fresno you'd think i was used to it by now but im not.
