I and my wife want to get CDL's and drive together. We have discussed all the variables and we have questions. The main one is, are there any companies who let husband and wife train together through the whole process, until they can go OTR together as a team? We don't like the idea of me training with some guy or gal, and her with a different guy or gal. We'd like to be together

As bad as training separately sounds, training 3 in a truck for 4+ weeks, with 2 tiny mattresses, would be worse. It's not what you want to hear, but it is what it is. You can do the initial CDL training (school) together, but the mentor/trainer portion with the initial carrier job, I don't think so.

what is the standard wait time for a rider? and/or how long would I have to drive to be her trainer/mentor?

Not sure what your current employment situation is but if at least one of you has a job, keep it!!! Let the other feel out the lifestyle. OTR trucking and trucking in general turns out to be a miserable existence for MANY. And the idea of TWO of you quitting jobs, jumping in and one of you finding you're not capable of the demands, requirements, needs, etc is doubled.

Thank you STexan. I'm out of work and the wife works as an LTL coordinator.

England trains 2 at a time, sometimes.
