The company I’m currently working for which is Prime has new drivers doing 50K miles at least. It’s been a really bad experience so far. I’m not sure I can handle another 30K of this.
Does anyone have recommendation working for another company as a new driver? Trying to make the best pay possible for my level of experience.
That won’t require me to drive teams for that many more miles.
I only have about 20K miles experience.
No issues/problems. Good driving record etc.
I still don’t know how to back barely..
But that’s where I’m at..
I am out of Southern California.
Could move to Las Vegas potentially relatively easily for a good job out of there as well.
Willing to move to another state such as Michigan as well if there is a good opportunity. Would consider other states too depending on the opportunity.
Your feedback is very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Update: I won’t go into specifics but the things I’ve dealt with were worse than just typical unpleasantness with another person in a small space.. I took a lot of BS and didn’t say anything 99% of the time. I can handle a lot. But after all this I don’t know if I can handle another 2 months non stop again. I’m currently waiting for a new trainer. If there is any more BS I want to have something I could fall back on. And if I need to pay the loan for cdl school to the company I will for breaking the one year lease. I did do a lot of research before and that’s why I’m even more disappointed. The entire TNT program needs to be revamped. It’s just a total mess.
Training time 50K miles at current company- any company recommendations for new drivers

Welcome Mav, so you, the driver, has to get 50,000 mi on your log book to be able to run solo ? Question, why do you say you're not sure you can do another 30,000 mi ? Bad co-pilot or what ?

50K miles? Is that total miles for the truck or 50k combined between you and the trainer? Southern Refrigerated in Texarkana used to require what they called the 4 corners with a trainer. Meaning, Washington, Southern Cal, Florida (or close) and New York, usually took about a month.
They were my first company waaaayyyyy back in 2000, They had just started becoming a division of Covenant, I dont know if they were fully absorbed or they were able to pay back the loan. Wasn't a bad company to gain experience. Good Luckmav100 and bryan21384 Thank this. -
Las Vegas is a great choice; plenty of trucking jobs here for local/regional/OTR.
No state income taxes and no food taxes at the grocery store.mav100, bryan21384 and ducnut Thank this. -
Probably your best move at this point is to merely ask for another trainer.
But you'll need a good explanation for why you want another.

Here's a list of companies in Las Vegas and there's more.
On this thread, the driver has some issue as to why he isn't being hired, so ignore that. I just want you to see the trucking company list.
Why is no one Hiring !!!!!mav100 and bryan21384 Thank this. -
