The company I’m currently working for which is Prime has new drivers doing 50K miles at least. It’s been a really bad experience so far. I’m not sure I can handle another 30K of this.

Does anyone have recommendation working for another company as a new driver? Trying to make the best pay possible for my level of experience.
That won’t require me to drive teams for that many more miles.

I only have about 20K miles experience.
No issues/problems. Good driving record etc.
I still don’t know how to back barely..
    But that’s where I’m at..

I am out of Southern California.
Could move to Las Vegas potentially relatively easily for a good job out of there as well.
Willing to move to another state such as Michigan as well if there is a good opportunity. Would consider other states too depending on the opportunity.

Your feedback is very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Update: I won’t go into specifics but the things I’ve dealt with were worse than just typical unpleasantness with another person in a small space.. I took a lot of BS and didn’t say anything 99% of the time. I can handle a lot. But after all this I don’t know if I can handle another 2 months non stop again. I’m currently waiting for a new trainer. If there is any more BS I want to have something I could fall back on. And if I need to pay the loan for cdl school to the company I will for breaking the one year lease. I did do a lot of research before and that’s why I’m even more disappointed. The entire TNT program needs to be revamped. It’s just a total mess.

Welcome Mav, so you, the driver, has to get 50,000 mi on your log book to be able to run solo ? Question, why do you say you're not sure you can do another 30,000 mi ? Bad co-pilot or what ?

50k seems a bit much for training.. How many weeks did it take you to get the 20k miles?

50K miles? Is that total miles for the truck or 50k combined between you and the trainer? Southern Refrigerated in Texarkana used to require what they called the 4 corners with a trainer. Meaning, Washington, Southern Cal, Florida (or close) and New York, usually took about a month.

They were my first company waaaayyyyy back in 2000, They had just started becoming a division of Covenant, I dont know if they were fully absorbed or they were able to pay back the loan. Wasn't a bad company to gain experience. Good Luck

Las Vegas is a great choice; plenty of trucking jobs here for local/regional/OTR.
No state income taxes and no food taxes at the grocery store.

Probably your best move at this point is to merely ask for another trainer.

But you'll need a good explanation for why you want another.

Here's a list of companies in Las Vegas and there's more.
On this thread, the driver has some issue as to why he isn't being hired, so ignore that. I just want you to see the trucking company list.
Why is no one Hiring !!!!!

FFS, finish what you started. If it was important that you have an easy path into the industry you would have bothered to research Prime and their training program , among the best in the business, and the longest BEFORE you signed a contract. With just a CDL in your pocket you don't know enough to be on your own. The shortest way to your solo truck, which will be much more comfortable is to finish the program you are currently in. The phase of being a newbie where you share a truck with the trainer is the hardest period for many CDL drivers. It was for me. Follow your trainer's instructions unless they are illegal or contrary t company policy. If you are young, you probably haven't experienced any hardship and never had to overcome any adversity. Trucking has a lot of adversity. Toughen up and you will be able to finish your contract and have a very good idea of what you want from your second employer in a year. Welcome to trucking. You chose this and you should act like you are tough enough until you are tough enough for the job.

I think Prime requires the truck to do the TNT required miles of 50K, not just the newbie. I once seriously considered a company that used the Prime program as their model for new drivers.

They were fully absorbed. You don’t see SRT badge anymore. For a bit you would see old SRT tractor and they just changed the name. Still had some of the purple graphics. Pretty sure they did this to all companies under their umbrella.
