I should be asking (as i read in here) if this is a good place to get your tanker experience (hauling water to start) if you want to work in the oilfields hauling crude?

You would need to relocate to San Antonio I believe for the tanker division. As a whole I see Stevens as a good starting place.
I have my CDL and started OR1 in Dec but cut my road time short due to family medical issues. I will be going back on May 26th to start over, I have interest in Alliance, being a former business owner and talking to several Alliance drivers, I believe I can make decent money as compared to company drivers.
The company does have the miles if you are willing to do crap miles once in a while, but I have friends in other companies and they say the same happens with them. Just remember it is a company to learn the business not to make a career in. Though some do and make good money. If you are looking to learn tanker work, well at least water since that is all Stevens hauls, I would say go for it. If you are look for a place to retire at, you might want to look at around there are lots of companies out there hiring tanker drivers.Striker26 and superpet39 Thank this.
