Are you sure about the Super 8? When I did ORII and Americas Worst was booked they put the overflow, of which I was one at another owned by the same folks as Americas Best. I thinking was called Inn at the Creek, but I referred to it as Up The Creek.

Week two is in the history books. Its been fun and a lot of wotk att the same time. The paperwork was a real drag the first week and didnt even touch a truck until Thursday of the first week. It picked up speed after that. It is way more than i expected. The instructors are nice but expect a lot if you are listening to what they tell you and adjusting accordingly things seem to go pretty smooth. I go to DPS on Monday to take my skills test. I believe i am ready skills wise and should pass no problem. am still very nervous. A lot of work still to do in week three skills development. I have been watching the previous week three classes and cant wait to be on that side of things . Others have said that there is a 4-5 day wait after week 3 to get assigned a trainer. I hoe that is not the case when i get there. All in all i think it has beeen a good experience i do miss my family though. Not an easy trade but things will improve as we adjust and learn to deal with the distance .
KMac and Corporal_Clegg Thank this. -
Glad things are going well... DPS test is a breeze, I assume they have already shown you the route, there is also a video that shows in on YouTube... do an search for Garland DPS road test.
No one expects you to be Joe Trucker in Monday... they just want to make sure you have control of the vehicle and understand it's place in the flow of traffic.
Same with the skills testing on the hill. They don't expect you to put it in the hole on the first try, but they expect to see you have the trailer going on the rightddirection.
Hang in there and way to go making it this far!tntrockstar Thanks this. -
Thanks Kmac. We did the course a couple of times on Friday. My instructor graded me on my very first go round and said I would have passed the DPS skills hands down. And I did pass the Stevens road test. I came out and drove the course a couple of times in my personal truck yesterday and practiced my air brakes in my personal truck just to be sure. the only part I am concerned with is parallel.
i am sitting outside DPS now waiting for everyone to show up at 7. Wish me skill... and luck. -

100 on the air brakes. 87 on the Skills course. -4 on parallel. I was a little outside the lane on the left rear of the trailer.
Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -
Congratulations... the backing will come in time.
