Yeah backing is what I kept asking my trainer to have me do more of back in the day. Also on your end and I'm sure you will go over it in class and probably already know it. Have plenty of patience with the noobs. That's the reason I can't and won't be one. Good luck, teach well and stay thirsty my friend.

The Company Culture business systems / processes.
Training is always Run from the safety department, so there is always an endless supply of information about not crashing and all that sort of joyful noise.
It's important to know how to communicate how to navigate a company's process.
And "how to be a Truck Driver" amongst one's peers.
When I was in "Driving School", it was common for an "Instructor" to reply, to some Questions "Your Road Trainer" will explain all about that". (Like creative logging).
How to explain some things / truths, without getting yourself in deep trouble will be an interesting challenge.
I wish you well on your adventure. I did it for many years, I've got the gray hairs for evidence.91B20H8 and gentleroger Thank this. -
"How to explain some things /truths without getting yourself in deep trouble"
Yeah, that will be a sharp learning curve. This is the law, this is how the company wants it, this is how a lot of guys do it, this is how I do it, good luck is how I usually handle it.
Or just babble on until their mind turns to mush or change the subject.Ontario_boy, Dreamboat, harlycharly55 and 1 other person Thank this. -

when an "issue" arises, instead of telling them hoe to get out of it, Ask them questions fo the right answer.
as in, the other student on the truck with me and the TE was attempting a back at a drop. the trailer was lined up in the hole perfectly, BUT the tractor was at too much of an angle for the trailer to stay "perfect" in the hole. It just came out of me to ask him what will happen with the trailer as he gets back under it. Answer, it will keep swingng as they line back up. He could then see what the issue was BEFORE it became a serious issue.Ontario_boy, mickimause and 91B20H8 Thank this. -
Man I want to go back through SNIs training just so I can request you as my trainer and be the the worst nightmare of a student to ever sit behind the wheel of a pumpkin. Gotta make sure you get off to a good start LOL.

Odor like an expensive cheese, denser then tungeston, more opinionated than a bevy of drunk Sunday morning talk show guests but with less education than the typical Jerry Springer guest.PoleCrusher, cnsper, mickimause and 3 others Thank this. -
