Hello All, Want to post here about my recent experiance hiring on with Transcorr National Logistics out of Indianapolis, Indiana. So, for whats its worth I am going to write it here. Answered an add on the Boston,MA. Craigslist last week for a Local Drivers wanted. The company is New England Sheets located at FT. Devons,MA. Their in house carrier was Transcorr. So, the both of them are owned by Swarz? Group. I gave them all my info ,former employers phone # ect. monday Jan. 11th. Thats when they contacted my former employer. I faxed them my app. tues. Jan. 12th. That afternoon I got a call from their safety Dept. telling me that my former employer was contacted & everything looks good. I then got the OK to take the next step in the hiring process doing a DOT Phys/ Drug test. They told me to get their before Friday Because on Monday jan. 17th I would do an orientation, I drove 5o miles one way on Thursday Jan. 13th and spent 2 hours doing that. Called them back and told them it was done. Monday jan. 17th. Me and a younger applicatnt in his 30,s? I am 53 years old spent 3 hours filling out paperwork. While doing this, a man walked in and was introduced as "The Head Of Transcorr". He could of been from N.E. Sheets mgmt. I don,t know for sure. So, I got up and made formal introductions and he went on his way. After this orientation we where sent home and where told we would be contacted. Sure enough Tursday Jan. 18th I recieved a call from safety and was told I was disqualified. I said What? The reason was they said the HR person at my former employers claimed I was a "yard Jockey only. And , I was not an OTR driver, See where this is going? I said last week I was " welcomed Aboard" And, this week I am disqualified after you met me. And, what does OTR have to do with a job advertized as being within a 150 radius of Devons Anyways, I called them back and said This party is just getting started. So, thats my story. Drive safe. Wow. That's going to be a tough one to prove. They did their CYA by not giving you a truthful reason for not hiriing you. I would think you would basically have to show that for not only you, but that have some kind of track record for turning older drivers (and yes, I am older) away. They sound like they have their alibi in place, because they can always claim it was what they were told or some kind of paperwork glitch.
Also can you check back with your former employers to make sure that someone did not do a number on you (I know, most likely would not admit it if they did)?

hey, thanks fopr the reply. The first thing I did when I got off the phone with Transcorrs safety Rep was call my former Employer, They are also a Corregated Manufacturer making cardboard boxes. So, I was going into the same line of work. I am on unemployment so, I do not think it would be to my former employers benefit to keep me collecting unemployment benefits? but I was given the green light and one week later disqualified. The woman that did the orientation was going to be my Supervisor/dispatcher. She had to drive all the way from Hazelton,PA. up here to MA, 300+ miles. It would really undermine her effort to an orientation on Monday to have me get disqualified on Tuesday. I now have an updated DOT card/physical . I may not be able to do a #### thing exept maker some calls. Thats why we pay taxs in MA. So that our elecected officals can deal with it. Thats what they tell us anyways. Thankyou.

So were you OTR at the last place or just a yard jockey? Just wondering.

I was a local driver. we did not do OTR. I moved 2-3 trailers a night. I also worked in the warehouse, drove a forklift, asssited production machine operators and all other jobs as assigned. Thats it.

OK, so from what you told me there you did local (off site trailer moves and deliveries), so just a yard jockey you were not.

Doesn't sound right being disqualified since you would be driving local anyway. How much time was spent driving on deliveries compared to other non-driving tasks?

They also falsely list the loads on load board at a ridiculously low rate. Pls see attachment. The load is listed from Dayton OH to Memphis TN, Brian told me that there is an extra stop in Napoleon OH which is about 125 mi and they want to pay $1200 on 800 miles trip with 2 stops, out of a hot market for trucks here in Dayton OH. They can be cheap but listing falsely is bad.

It appears to be OK to lie about any thing in this field. I just called JB Hunt on this load which they have listed from Franklin OH to Tyler TX find out that the load actually is from Mason OH to Longview TX. The rate is $1500-1600 on 915 miles . Not even $2/ mile out of the hot market.
