    Orientations are 3 days
    Trainer should be readily available
They will keep you in a hotel if you must wait on a trainer

You do not need a TWIC Card
They do provide a suggested packing list

You should bring a Motor Carrier's Atlas

You go out with a trainer for 140 driving hours(approx. 3 wks)
Trainer does not drive(so you both sleep at the same time)
There is a post-trainer test to upgrade to solo
Training pay is $50 per day/ $350 per week

Eligible for rider as soon as you go solo
    $10 per month rider fee
    Forced Dispatch
Truck is Assigned (no slip seating)
They will never force you to run team

Trucks equipped with Prepass for weigh stations

    Routes are prescribed
When, where, and how much fuel is prescribed
Get preapproval for a comcheck to pay lumpers

You start at .30cpm when you go Solo and you remain at that rate for 1yr

ROFLMFAO! It ALWAYS knows where you are! But of course it has no GPS! The unit IT'S SELF is a GPS unit! Do you think for a moment they would put this unit in a truck and not want to know where their equipment is? Heck your cell phone always knows where you are! Even if you turn off that GPS!

Perhaps I used the wrong term? What are the electronic devices called that drivers use to request driving directions from Point A to Point B with? The electronic devices that direct you right or wrong where to turn? What is the proper term for such devices? Pretty sure the recruitor knew what I was referring to.

The only reason I've ruled Trans-Am out as a possible starting company is the fact that all thier trucks are automatics. Alot of companies looking for experienced drivers don't actually count driving rigs with autos as getting experience, from what I've heard. Especially if your starting with autos straight out of school.

    Hey xlsdraw,

I'm about to finish CDL class at Mid Florida Tech and am talking to companies too.

I spoke with and received emails fromTalisa and she said their fleet has all automatics. 2007 and newer Kenworth T600's & T660's.

Other than that, I'm finding generally good comments on this forum about Trans Am, as long as you stay away from their lease program.

    xlsdraw Thanks this.

Yep! Other then that I've heard decent things about them. I was gonna go with them at first because they pay decent to start, they have lots of miles, and the run east of the rockies. But the whole automatic thing just would've threw everything off. I'll prolly go with Werner to start, get some EXP and then consider a mover to Trans-Am.

Plus they have nice shiny condos with refrigerators included!
