Thanks for the advice and it is my understanding the test is pretty short through "downtown" Olathe.

Attitude is everything, especially when you have a really crappy day.

That's darn good info and advice. Thank you.

I hadn't heard about this case but I am aware of a current class action suit involving TA's L/P practices...looks pretty bad for them from the brief posted on casetext.com.

    Track 1 Day 3

Well, today I acted like I knew what I was doing again. No problems at all on the cone course and my backing was spot on. I suppose you just have an off day from time to time. Took my road test late this afternoon and had zero problems with that, swing wide, watch mirrors...pretty basic stuff.

A huge new class of new drivers came in today and by 3pm over half had left. It boggles my mind how people who know they can't pass a drug test will still try and slip by. About 15 people peed hot and now several of them are standing outside the hotel trying to beg money to get home. It's sad in a way but I have absolutely no sympathy for them...this is a zero tolerance industry as it should be and they knew that coming in.

I'll be getting a coach tomorrow and heading out. My tablet has completely crapped out but I'm hopeful I'll be able to pick one up on the road Friday. I'll keep you all posted on my travels and experiences.

The benefits office back home is on them to get a job. Once they get thrown out and someone else pays their way back home for them, they can write 'I tried' on the next progress report. Keeps the checks coming.

You might want to watch what tablet you buy. Most of them don't have a GPS module. You'll definitely want that to use apps like Truckers Path, Google maps, etc later on. I know most Samsung tablets have GPS. I use the Galaxy Tab 9.6 in a cup holder mount alot.

    Just a heads up there.

Wow 15 i just don't understand why you would even go out there. Also those are DOT tests right so if you fail thats on your record for good and no company will touch you someone correct me i'm wrong on that. Glad your doing well do you have any say as to whom your coach will be???

How many dopers have you known that have an iota of common sense?
Everybody thinks they're the smartest people on earth and think they can beat a dope test with no problem.

They probably took some over the counter 'cleaner' thinking they would be ok....
The school I went to made an announcement the first day, first 5 minutes, that if you weren't sure you were going to pass the drug test, to get up like your going to the clinic and keep on going....Come back to a future class when you can pass. They said if you came up dirty, it would be reported to the DMV since we all had our permits already..... And basically your driving career would be over before it even started....
    One guy disappeared...... Lol.

    Good job, man!

15 guys showed up for orientation, 7 were sent packing, a few will make it through orientation and out of those four only two will make it past 6 mos.

This industry chews guys up and spits them out like an unexpected swig of sour milk from the refrigerator.

The company I started with 7 years ago hires 1,400 warm bodies every year to just maintain a 1 thousand truck fleet.

I'll let you do the math on the percentage ;-)

Hang in there, you're doing well!
