I think more people like him should stand up to such a scam Especially when it comes to rookie drivers who are just starting out that's like picking a fight with someone you know you will beat. Companies such as this one and many others take advantage of people's nescience to a situation. But at the same time rookie's and i'm a rookie myself should do there home work as well and read up on this stuff all it takes is one little google search to realize this and most lease program's are a flat out no go for a rookie and it would be dumb move on ones part to even try it. This is my opinion but as of now things are going on like these lease scam's which are making the trucking industry look shady and untrustworthy when most of the guys and i said MOST coming in just want to make a living for there self and families.

Geeze, take a few days off, and y'all go 5 pages.
Congrats on passing the classes.
When did they start flying people out to do recoveries? I had to ride from Kansas to Florida, to do mine. Good thing the guy I rode with, was my age, liked the same kindof mmusic, and was cool.
After you clean out the truck, make sure the permit book is there. It's your license and your problem, if you get hauling a load without it, and you will get a load.Broke Down 69 and Hick Thank this. -
My 700 broke down in GA. I was on hometime in GA. They towed me to albany, Ga., about 80 miles away. The KW in albany was a joke. After waiting 5 days n shop they gave up on fixing the 700. So TA said I needed to do a recovery in GA. So I caught greyhound to atlanta, then caught taxi to KW. I recovered one of our trucks and picked up a couple loads till I got to Rockwall, Tx. Then they said good job go pick up another one in Indiana. I flew to Ft Wayne and caught taxi to a Walmart store. The driver brought me keys and the battery was dead. The driver had been home for 3 weeks for medical issues so he was not coming back for awhile. I got truck repaired and ran a couple loads and got to Rockwall. Then I was sent to Waco, Tx by greyhound and caught cab to a tow truck yard to pick up truck. The truck was horrendous. The driver had caught Ebola or Zika virus and went to hospital. He puked in truck, flies and bad odor and trash. I cleaned up truck a little and cursed the whole way bobtailing to Rockwall. I was ready to quit if they said Recovery to me again. But they said my truck was ready in Ga., they had towed it to KW in Mcdonough, GA. They flew me from Rockwall to Atlanta and I caught taxi to KW.
That 3 weeks of breakdown and recovery was why I quit Transam a couple months later.Broke Down 69, Panhandle flash, Hick and 2 others Thank this. -
My first company tried to get us to go recover a truck while Freightliner in SLC fiddled around fixing ours. we said no thanks and waited for our truck.

You get $50 a day layover pay anytime you are mpt 24 hrs or brokedown. On recovery they put money on your fuel card for taxis and when catching greyhound or airplane they purchase tickets and you pick it up at counter.
I believe that you actually loose money doing recovery. Some companies pay people a flat fee per day but transam won't do that.Broke Down 69 and bamalife123 Thank this. -
@Jazzy J say you get 1 day for every 7 right? so say i wanted to stay out till the beginning of dec then could you use say 8 days in a row or do you have to take those days every month as a company drive not L/O.
Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
You get like 1 day hometime for every week on road. I believe they won't approve no more than 4 days off a month.(once you are home you just extend it a day or two or three)
Best way to do hometime is put in for: 2001/8:01 pm on the day before you want off and put in return to work at 0800/8 am.(won't count against your days)
I used to stay home for about 6 days and stay on road for at least 21 to 25 days.
Their hometime is computer generated. Driver manager sometimes can get days approved manually. Best way to get the days you want is to put in 2 to 3 weeks ahead. I used to put in for hometime on my first day back out. Best way to do hometime is ask the dm to tell you what days are open for hometime then work with the days that are open.bamalife123 Thanks this.
