Don't ever let them get to. Your spirit is only broken, if you ALLOW it to be. As for the owner being er, perhaps a bit angry, don't bet on it. Maybe it is him that is telling them to put all new company drivers into their POS trucks, so they will lease a "new" (which undoubtedly will NOT be actually new,) truck.
Aw come on man, you're in So Cal. The land of milk and honey.......![]()

Who knows how much abuse that purple truck has had in the past.
For all we know one off the previous drivers might have left a "present" somewhere.Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
As for the land of Milk and Honey...I see it more as Sodom and Gomorrah.
intrepidor, Big Don and daf105paccar Thank this. -
Just got off the pipe with Kenworth and it's six to five and pick 'em whether I'll get out today. I'm about to call my DM to see if they can fly me out of here to another truck so I can get some mileage in.
I'll let y'all know how that goes.Big Don Thanks this. -
Will one of you TransAm lease ops please abandon your truck in Florida so Broken Down 69 can make some money, please?
tscottme, Vic Firth and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
Amen! Although NC would be better, my oldest son's birthday is tomorrow. Haven't seen any of my bits and pieces for over two months now.

I spent my first 2 years out in 2009 & 2010 about 300 days away from home each year.
I felt disconnected and lost...
I determined that if I stayed in the industry I was going to find a regional company that I could do linehaul with and get home more.
I did just that and got home at least every weekend with an additional night at home in between.
Since then I got my own authority, truck & trailer and essentially do the same. I'm very much at peace with where I'm at now and don't envision ever going back to another vocation, even it meant being home every night.
3 nights a week home is plenty for me. Plus, I'd be hard pressed to find a job in my area making what I do now anyways.JustWannaBeComfortable, Big Don, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I am impressed. Not only have you made a change but you realize what you have to do now and seems you have the drive to get it done.
Lonesome, Broke Down 69 and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
I was driven by financial desperation for first 2 years. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do in life to survive.
I almost lost my marriage and our home 8 years ago when the economy crashed, I was a spec/custom home builder. It was tough, however, by God's grace, hard work and determination, everything was redeemed.
I could go on and on about the amazing things that have happened to me along the journey. However, this thread is about Broke Down 69 and getting him out of the Purple TurdPanhandle flash, Big Don, Eldiablo and 2 others Thank this. -
