I respect BD69er, however, he wouldn't have gotten stuck with a truck "abandonment" or a "fired" on his DAC if he had left after the first time they hung him out to dry and had to go home and wait for them to pull their heads out of their butts.

That's just bad counsel, and in all truthfulness, allows bad companies like Trans Am to continue abusing it's drivers.

I despise companies like Trans Am and just on the testimony of BD69er alone, will make sure that I go out of my way to dissuade anyone from going to work for them.

I've worked for 3 different companies in my 8 years in this industry.

My second company was with Market Transport back in 2011.

They had a grumpy veteran dm that had outlived his usefulness there and was just counting down the days to his retirement.

I had told the dm who was covering for him (several days before) that I was taking 4 days off over Thanksgiving and he told me to drop the loaded trailer in the yard and to enjoy my hometime.

Grumpy Bob calls me and says I will have to deliver that load at 0500 the day after Thanksgiving.

To which I replied, "no I won't". "Yes you will", he said. My response was I will just clean my truck out and turn the keys in on Wednesday when I get back to the yard as I already had family plans.

The guy informed me he thought that was a good idea. So, I did just that.

I was back in a brand new PB 587 with my former company 2 days after after Thanksgiving holiday.

And grumpy Bob? He's retired now ;-)

A new driver with a couple weeks or months with their 1st company is not in a position to leave, IMO.

Well, like they say, opinions are like... ;-)

Didn't Broke Down 69er start his job on August the 10th? That's like 4 months of servitude to a worthless piece of crap company if there ever was one. Maybe he can share with all of us what he actually earned in the past 4 mos. at Trans Am.

Very interesting thread . It was like reading a mystery novel where I couldn't wait to get to the next page . All the cast of characters also made it a good read .

I actually read the entire thread in one day. I guess Broke Down the sequel will be coming out soon ? Broke Down Again , maybe ?

^^^^^^ Point being? He did as he stated above, and THEN some! Oh..... are you sticky that Ethos hasn't 'moved' it yet? The day isn't over. First post on this forum, on a long-time loyal man's thread... sure is suspect. Or "something..." I work for neither his old nor new company, just a fellow caring man that followed his posts and perils. Yes, a fellow DRIVER. E'tu?

It's no big deal really. I left TransAm right after training. Then I went to Swift for six months. I have been at my current company for almost three years now. Sometimes it takes awhile to find the company that works for you.
