Well if you worked for a company that actually paid you like you were the business owner you might actually make a profit that's warranted for your effort. The low cpm they pay is ripping you off!

It takes more than keeping the door shut, and driving. You gotta have loads that have miles associated with them. Lots and lots of miles, if all they're paying is .84.Fuel is a part of it, but not the whole thing.

And yes, I did own a truck, but not as a L/P.

U right but what are you going to do about it? they front you the money and say make something of yourself the lease isn't supposed to be a long term thing in my eyes. U have to sacrifice and get what you can get in the short period of time. Invest in yourself at the end of the deal and create a situation that you have more control over. U can make money here u just to be smart about it. How many of can go to a bank and say I need 60k to start a business with no money down......I will wait.......

In that case u take the back road and create something for yourself
Most people don't have a brain to think they are only designed to be a employee. No insult to anybody but that's just the truth. I am only 25 and I had about 16 jobs in my life and nobody pays enough to live above poverty without a connection to get in the door. I have friends with phd's and still can't find a job. Still working for minimum wage with debt so going back to college is not a option till I find something I'm good at and is paying me well to pay for my own schooling and could benefit me operating my own brand. Why build someone else brand and make them millions and you still nickel and dime... it don't make sense. I speak to every driver I come across. And I actually only conversate with success. U can't tell me nothing if u r a failure. Take notes to success. When I got to trans am I knew nothing about Leasing. I immediately said no. I spoke to company drivers when the trainers wasn't around and asked on a average how much miles they get a week did the math and I thought I was screwed because I would be making less than what I was making back home looked at the paper for the payment plan got my calculator calculate when I was out for 11 days every driver I see for trans that lease asked them on a average how many miles per week do they get did some more math. Find my target percentage how much I need to spend on fuel maximize my profits and I have yet to come near that percentage or go over it on my trips.

What happens if your truck breaks down? Say it spends five days in the shop. Your answer is that you have a warranty. Does the warranty cover five days of zero miles? A company driver would get breakdown pay. You get nuffin!

Oh he gets something, a big honking bill. They'll find a ways to stick it to him, just ask my TA trainer...they stuck him with the tow bill for their trailer when his ECA went tits up.

True enough, Sir. Those positions are limited, for sure. Just wanted to throw that out there for comparison's sake.

Merry Christmas and good luck with the new gig.
