^My current load is two stops. It had about 28 hours more time between pick up and delivery than I needed but I was ok with it as it kept me out of the snow storms (mostly). However, the 2nd stop delivery time was changed from 6am to 11:15am while I was driving to the first stop. Now here I sit and it is 1:15pm local time and no sign I will be unloaded anytime soon. About 8 trucks ahead of me, nothing is moving, my clock just burning up.
It is ok ... I will contact my dispatch, they will work something out or get me some detention pay. Wait, I work for TransAm, my time is worth zero to them, I can just sit and suck it!
Panhandle flash and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
Soooo, somebody (Panhandle) told me that I am the bearer of bad news
......I told him that misery loves company. Another heads up on the weather, if you have to travel through St. Louis tomorrow get through there early in the day. Missouri is in the path of another storm and once again the "B" word is being used. There is an 80% chance of blizzard conditions in St. Louis. Indiana, Illinois and the Ohio Valley will be hit by this storm also. Keep an eye on the weather, everyone... this is another large storm that will affect many states not only with snow but sub-zero temps. Make sure you have basic food supplies.
Truckers' Code
On top of the almost foot of snow received throughout Indiana and Ohio (winter storm Hercules) they are about to get blasted with another winter storm ion expecting to get another 8-12" of snow plus it being well below zero and high winds ...so any truckers traveling this way Saturday (4th-5th) Sunday beware dangerous road conditions

I'm sorry the load planning has been so bad for you guys, kirk and passport. There's really not much that can be said or done to make the situation any better. There should be some compensation for those situations. I have always felt that these big carriers could and should guarantee a minimum daily pay. You have to believe that they are being compensated when their trucks are tied up..... why shouldn't the driver be compensated for his time. You may be off duty but it isn't like you can go home and sit in your recliner and wait til they call you.
oliver2, kirk and passport220 Thank this. -
George is not going to renew his lease...on to a company that recommends three (full,24 hours) days of home time every 14 to 17 days.
He will have to shift, but no more leasing!
He saw the inside of the trucks and they're nice!HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
I have been taking a lot of cals since I have filled out applications. Most are willing to accept all my experience even from years ago. If you are unhappy here you should fill out applications and see what is out there. I am being very picky as I do not want to move from where ever I go next.
