This is 100% truth. Anyone saying anything different is paid by Johnny Jacobsen to do so_Orientation was nothing more than propaganda to get drivers to lease. On the driving and backing range, even drivers that hit parked trailers were deemed OK and allowed to go OTR solo.

I hope they shut their doors, we don't companies like this anyway
..... Worthless to anyone who has anything to do with those people

This place is a joke and not a funny one. 1000 miles let week and others have not been much better. Dispatchers some are good while most are idiots. I have only a few months experience and should not know more than them. Yet they will argue even when dead ### wrong. If you try to work things out they will just punish you and drop your miles even further. The lease drivers get money taken from them and the payroll won't tell you what the money is for. It is a scam from top to bottom. Unless you need them for experience go somewhere else. Anywhere. They do hire people that cannot get hired elsewhere. Like if you have felonies. I got over 3 months and i am moving on.

I am sad to read this as Trans Am was on my "list" as being a "decent" choice for a newbie coming into this industry to choose from? But I guess not. I don't plan on leasing, and would not allow myself to be talked into it and just want to get some experience under my belt as a company driver and for some reason I got the impression through forums that they were not a bad company persay, at least not bad to start out with anyways, but I must defer to other drivers that would certainly know more than I would. :( Another one to scratch off the list. For a newbie, this is finding a needle in haystack - a good company. I would sacrifice a few c's p/m for better treatment. Rant over. ;)

dvrtech77 - I'm up here in the SE part of Mass, Cape Cod area. I'm leaning towards a CDL school here in MA rather than company sponsored despite the cost of it but once I get it, then what? After 14 years driving accident free in a bus/motor coach, I am ready to see more of the U.S. besides just New England, so OTR for me is fine. Ruled out Swift, Schneider, Prime, Heartland, JB Hunt, USXpress, CRST, Barr-Nunn, Werner, and now Trans AM. Call me picky, sure. The one that "look" good: I thought Trans Am (but I guess not now), USA Truck, Celadon in Indy, Pride?, Hartt. Nussbaum is first choice but they don't hire where I live *sad face* But by all means, I am open to learning more from others and am always looking to better myself :)

Aren't we all, driver. After 1 year and 2 months,it's time for me to move on from Western Express. I was thinking about looking into Marten Transport,Big G Express,Abilene Motor Express and a couple others(I also wanted to look at Averitt Express but unfortunately Massachusetts isn't in their hiring area).
