"Go moderate something?" That's what I'm doing.
Let us know when you find a job and how things are working out for you.
Just as an aside, I had breakfast this morning with a couple of our friendly competitors and I asked them if they'd be willing to give someone with your background and attitude a shot at a driving job. The answer was a unanimous no.
But don't let that discourage you. Somebody will hire you. That fact alone says quite a bit about the standards some companies have.

You are NOT free, just as anyone else. You have a criminal record. Myself, as well as many, many others on this forum do not have a criminal record. On the other hand, there are several on this forum who are successful while having past similar to yours, but they did not start with upper echelon companies. They had to earn their way up.
This is a public forum and you asked for advice. You probably should have read this forum prior to joining this past Saturday. Had you done so, you would have realized when you put something out there, you open the door for every member to mention, ask about, or otherwise scrutinize what you say virtually every time you post something, regardless of whether or not it is relevant to the subject you want to discuss.
Unlike prison, we do not hold you captive. You are free to leave any time you wish.
I also want to give you a friendly heads-up. I wouldn't continue arguing with @REO6205 , it will end with a speedy exit for you.Another Canadian driver, firemedic2816, mjd4277 and 7 others Thank this. -
I'm just going to be real. They ARE upholding the higher standard. There is more that can be said at any time and the way that your information was handled was correct. The whole clapback thing you have spoken of, won't really work with staff and if you try it with members, you'll get a handsome amount feedback.Another Canadian driver, 88 Alpha, mjd4277 and 2 others Thank this.

If Carolina Cargo won’t touch you..that speaks volumes..

Maybe Western Express but even then that might be a crapshoot.
And that company is a “rogues gallery” if there ever was one..Last edited: Jul 17, 2020

LMAO. You can't discourage me. I don't show you the respect that I show to potential employers because you mean nothing, absolutely nothing to me. Period. Your opinion is nothing to me. I have reacted to what you have said as a courtesy of conversation because you decided to respond, albeit without actually answering any questions I asked. You move me not at all. You don't get that you are not important at all to me for me to extend to you the respect that I show to those with whom I am speaking regarding future employment. I don't CARE who or what you are because this is basically an anonymous online forum. You have continuously projected a certain attitude upon me that you are convinced that I have, yet you don't know anything about me, save a few bits of information from the posts I have offered. You most definitely don't know anything about my character nor my personality. Now, I won't bother responding to any more of your posts because you as of yet have had nothing profitable, in my estimation, to say. I will not be keeping you informed as to my future employment. Now, have a good evening, enjoy feeling like you really told me off, and please remember that you are as significant to me as a bug on a windshield. Wipe, wipe...gone.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

When Trans Am trucking sent a recruiter to my school to do a presentation, not one student was even remotely interested in going to work for them. Some of the students had pretty extensive criminal records and they were like screw that. TransAm trucking is not a good company to work for. I’d drive Uber or flip burgers before I’d work for an unethical company like them.
Voodoo Pyg and mjd4277 Thank this. -
Continue arguing. First REO6205 inserted him/herself into a discussion and offered advice that was not part of what I asked. Second, I have only responded to what this person has said in the posts. Third, I most definitely am free. Where have I said anything about expecting to start anywhere but where I can get employed? I have 0 expectation other than hopefully I find a job to eventually turn into a career. No, I am not that entitled one. Good try projecting that on me. After this, I will not be responding to your posts, either. You do not mean anything to me, the same as REO6205. Have a good evening and enjoy thinking you really told me off.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

I appreciate the feedback. Though it certainly is not preferable as a company to start off, if that is my choice for getting my foot in the door in the industry...I am taking it.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

They didn't decline me due to background. They had declined my application before I spoke to them. I ended up calling them and they said that they turned down my application because I am outside of their hiring area.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
