    Need some input quick.

Looking at a new 53' combo flatbed, Cal legal, air ride. Want to purchase ASAP.

Which one would you buy and why?

Compare beam rating and bare weights. If you are comparing apples to apples go with whichever has the best price. It's all in what you are prepared to live with between those two; not that one is SO much better or worse than the other. Both will do the job.

first question, why are these the only choices you have?

Some sort of lease or rent to own deal?

Transcraft and Benson trailers are part of Wabash.
Benson is the aluminum Transcraft is the steel. Having pulled these, I can say that I despised the transcraft. Floors are weak point on them, even with a coil package.

AKA: transcrapt or transcracked both work

Direct trailer is almost the same product, is slightly better and cheaper.
I would buy one of them before a transcraft

Fontaine is owned by Berkshire Hathaway. They have changed a lot over the last few years. Not familiar with the newest products, been a while since I had use of them. I know at that time the product seemed fairly good.

  6. If you just in a pinch. Look over both trailers for wear and tear, check tires installed and brake pads.

Determine what applications you will use your trailer for choose accordingly.

OP. Being sight unsceen I would pick the one with the best tires & less trailer damage.
    Good luck

    Clarification:

Looking at new trailers and I do oilfield mostly.

I am in SW Louisiana and there is not a lot of options. I am trying to keep it about $30,000

Why is CA legal a consideration for oilpatch work in your neck of the woods??

What do you gain by going 53 vs 48?

We have a customer that has 58' materials we haul from time to time.

Any reason not to go to the 53?
