Hello, I had a question about state to state license transferring( CDL ) requirements of Oklahoma? I was moving there and curious about the process for a particular job, thank you in advance.

If you leave one state that you were a resident of. And move to any state in the USA to make a new home you will surrender your old CDL and stamp you a new CDL for the new State. They will run a quick eye test, written test and your endorsements etc. Take a photo and walia! New CDL in your new home state. Oh by the way, bring money. They want fees too. In addition by 2020 there is a mandatory shift to enhanced licenses, you will need your B/C, Utilities etc and other documents to submit and upgrade to that license level in a few years. It will provide you access to Federal installations, and buildings plus domestic flights. After 2020, normal licenses will not be allowed to board flights.

    Good luck!

Yeah, wow...... The Oklahoma .gov site seems to skirt right around the issue pretty well. :/

Edit: I wouldn't count on that wind-bag above me. I'm sure some of his info is good, but it isn't gospel etched into a stone tablet. Violà!........ Or Walia...... Or...... Yut.

Prolly have to take hazmat test again, background check if it's been few years. Unless you don't have H/M endorsement, then pay no attention to me.......

Thank you, so in conclusion I'll have to retake the test over once again?

Something to keep in mind. Most states dont consider you a resident until you have lived at one place for at least 6 months. Also a PO Box doesnt qualify as residency.

IIRC, Wisconsin doesn't consider you a resident until 6 months and 1 day have passed. But you only have 30 days to change license and vehicle registration to your new address.

I called them this morning and the only requirements needed were as following:
    • CDL
    • US Birth Certificate or Passport
    • Proof Of Residency
    • Fee: $76.50

The 6 month policy is good if you lose the job and you want to move back home.

Trucking jobs that ask a person to relocate can be sketchy and you may find your on the sidewalk after 90 days. It isnt your fault. It is kind of a scam to get some one to relocate for a paycheck.
