I used to live in Illinois. I think West Chicago is a much better spot for taking your road test, etc......In Illinois, you will have to redo all the permit tests, all the road skills and all the backing thanx to Gov. Ryan and his "paid" licenses. West Chicago is a lot more lenient than Elk Grove Village. Elk Grove last I heard, expected you to start off in 1st gear. (ugh) Good luck.

Yeah but whats the difference in another states CDL qualifications? NOTHING! Which is why I say its.BS! Also doesn't a CDL holder have federal guidlines to follow unlike a regular DL holder? We are paying for a crooked politicians scandal.

I did mine in Elk Grove. It wasnt bad at all. Just be polite. Not to offend anybody but in elk grove they dont like people who cant speak good english and cant explain things clearly on the pre trip.

Some of us were smart enough to get the heck out of that state. Lived in Pana for a grueling 8 years. Still gives me nightmares. Got fed up with the state when they got caught selling CDL's to anyone who had the $1000 bribe. U didnt even have to be able to speak or read English. Guess the state was hard up for cash. Now a few 1000 are out there making the hard working "real" drivers look bad in this industry. And no...I will never go back. Be safe out there drivers.

I also used to live in Illinois.....I got out of there too.......Lots and lots and lots of untrained and fatigued drivers. I am in Missouri now. I have always had my CDL out of Missouri and I would NEVER EVER EVER switch it to that state..............
