because those are usually few and far in between and not much different from current bs. dedicated positions are usually just bait to get you to orientation.

Expand your horizons, get a job where a cdl is required but not much driving. I drove 37 miles today... felt great.

    Hydro vac truck
    Boom truck
    Ready mix
    Roll off
    DOT
work for your city mowing lawns and turning down trees to wood chips...

There are a million jobs out there that require a cdl that don’t require much driving.

Yes you will get dirty, yes you will sweat and have to use your big boy muscles.

Personally I’d rather get dirty and work on a project vs drive all day.

I’d still go in and talk to them. That’s how I got my job. Just shot the #### with the mechanic and he went to bat for me and here we are today.

    No harm in trying.

Sir, I can relate, to an extent. Which, I won't go in detail, because this is out on the Internet, because, I am a very discreet person. If you do search on one the search engines, this pops up, which goes to show you. That it's not private by no means. If you like to know. You can ask me in private to the original topic starter. Thank you, for starting this.

Some people I know have gone into emission testing and certification. You need a van,the equipment and a state or federal certification(either work for the state or go to school). It's pretty easy once you have the knowledge, and it's very profitable.

What is there not to get? Most people hate their jobs. He probably can't afford to earn less. We earn more, and upgrade our lifestyles. Then it is very difficult to transition to a new career. Unfortunately, these skills do not transition over to any decent paying jobs. The best thing to do in my opinion is to find a dedicated run, learn a skill, or get an education at the same time. I am doing that now for Data Engineering. It is a career that is projected to grow 100% in size in the next 4 years. They will hire with no experience. A Google Certification in advanced data analytics is all one needs. I am going to take a course with "Triple Ten" because I need someone pushing me.
