The only real issue with the front end on a dodge is on the 4x4's, for a number of years the track bar wore out too fast.

Aftermarket developed a durable and long lasting fix for it, other than that, the front end is very good.

A swap of any eaton trans can be done. Even behind a 5.9 or a 6.7 cummins. A friend has a 1990 F350, a 6bt mechanical rotary pumped(VE) cummins and an old 13 double over road ranger trans. You know the ones with a funky shift patern! Anything can be done!

I wished the a 8LL or a 10spd rr was avalible in pickups, other than a do it your self option.

I think it is referring to the one with the last 2 gears of the H reversed so that high is forward against the dash instead of back.

Someone did that to a 10 speed Meritor I was stuck with driving for quite a while, the dealership installed the wrong update, it was really weird figuring out what they had done. Their guys shuttled the trucks there and back bobtail and left it that way. I hooked up to an empty and figured it out right away.

I still can't figure out how a guy could drive something for over 90 miles and not figure out something was that wrong.

Ok ya thats a odd pattern to get used to. First one i ever came across was behind a 8v92 and didnt know it had a differnt shift pattern, and i like to never figured out why there was such a big ratio jump from 6th to 7th and why it wouldnt go into 8th lol

ive had two dodges, one an automatic and one a manual. From a towing standpoint manual is the way to go.Cheaper to fix, less to break, and excellent for towing through the mountains or up steep grades. As for the auto,Itll do the job but it seems like it strains.

I had a dodge once... Worked on it more than I drove it... Finally got rid of it at 240k... From my experience the truck falls apart around the motor... I was never so happy to sell a vehicle... Bought a 7.3 OBS powerstroke... Although it rides rough I'm so happy I finally have a real truck... My F250 will haul more than twice as much as my 3500. I liked the cummins but I hated that dodge so much... And it was a 5 speed... Broke the main shaft in the transmission pulling a 10,000 lb trailer. That truck was such a POS and I only pulled a trailer twice a year. Now I'm going to sleep to have more nightmares of it. Thanks a lot lol
