Ok guys I have 2 dump trucks 1 is a 97 freightliner that has the rto14709mll Trans with 4.11 gear in the rear..has 425 floats on the front 11.22.5 rear..had Trans work done not more then 2 years ago 1/5 gear was gone ..had it repaired I thought now it's jumping out of same gear sometimes and getting locked between gears sometimes..I know the transmission is a heavy duty spec for mixer trucks but they specialize it in this is guess for a lot of off road work ..which I don't do a lot of even when I do its not much 61000 total..ohh the motor is a cummins m11 still set at factory spec of 280 hp 1250 tq..
Now my other truck is a 99 sterling 60 series 365hp it has a rtof14709ll Trans with 4.30 rear 315/22.5 front 11/22.5 back..I was going to get a reman Trans the rto14709mll but was thinking could I use the same Trans that's in the sterling through rtof14709ll and not have and pulling problems..and my reasons for the thought is I don't use the deep lo gear in the freightliner cause it's so low but I do use the deep lo in the sterring from time to time cause it's not so lo..
What's the thoughts and ideas on this if anyone could help me..thanks

Wow! You talk around in circles more than I do. What are the pulling problems? The only difference between the RTO and the RTOF is the shift cover. One has the shifter at the rear and the other has it in the center which is forward F.
M stands for gear set and I thank is for low gear. LL stands for deep reduction.
I will just say in your application I really liked the RTO (X and or F) 14715. It has deep reduction and what ever you want to call the gears start behind R in LL. Shift up next to R then straight back, preselect to LO and shift straight forward. Then continue through your regular pattern. I know that is not in the directions. They run real smooth and don't have you running the stick around in circles like some 14LL's.
I am not sure about the high gear ratio so call Triple S Gear in Charlotte, Richard Kerns in Atlanta, or T.H. Evans an Athens.
If I have given bad information please correct me. Yes I am one that would slide an 18 back behind R in high to to keep from changing range. Didn't know that was wrong. -
Anyone else care to help out

I did not find a 14 series 9sp. LL But the 8sps. start with around a 15 to 1 and end with a 0.74 final drive ratio.
The 9MLL is 26.08 to 1 and 0.73. The RTX14715 is 12.1 to 1 and a final drive ratio of 0.79. That would slow you down a bit. There is an Eaton road speed calculator on line. You can fill in the blanks and it will give your actual road speed with any combination.
