For starters we dont know what trans you have because you didnt tell us. Just (Ultrashift)........ or even what truck/engine.

Sounds like you already have your mind made up. Dont let us try and talk you out of it.

I have a ProStar. 2013 with MF13. Just was trying to see if it’s been done. A lot of people go for the limit of the clutch, but never talk about the transmission itself.

I took your advice and had the truck turned up to 1750tq which is a happy median imo. So far it’s running like a champ. Thanks

I have two trucks with 1650 transmissions and 1750 clutch. Both turned to 1850.
Unless you haul heavy in the hills a lot, extra 200lb of torque is totally fine

    jamespmack and 2013Maxx Thank this.

Thanks for the info. Sometimes I run at 78k in hilly areas. I would have loved to go to 1850, but didn’t wanna hurt anything especially since I’m automated. But man I notice a nice improvement at 1750tq. I was looking at an International ProStar with a 10spd manual that has 1700tq stock with an FRO16210C (1650) transmission in it from the factory! That’s what intrigued me to go higher with my FO16E310C-LAS (1650). The stock 1550tq my particular ProStar had wasn’t cutting it lol.

OP, the obvious answer is no.

If you need a heavy spec truck to move a massive load, trade that truck in on a heavy spec.

200 ft lbs and 100k plus wouldn't bother me one bit with a good driver.

Id never pull a good working trans till it needed replaced or rebuild. Not for such a small change.

I've had a 2150 ft lbs N14 at a million miles with small main driveshafts.

If your a bad driver, I dont care how you "bulletproof it". They will still destroy it.
