What he should do is buy one of those blast lists(they don't care if it's a broker or carrier) for a couple of hundred. See how far his theory works.

    Siinman and GreenPete359 Thank this.

One experience doesn't mean it always works the same way.
Just like all brokers don't lie all the time, but they do most of the time.

No. You are repeating what a 3rd party broker told you. You have no idea what the cheaper broker got paid.
I find it funny you admit brokers (like everyone) lies, but you believe the broker as the gospel truth when it confirms your preexisting bias.

    GreenPete359 and shanman Thank this.

Why should I believe the broker was lying when he emailed me the load sheet and said the other brokers get the same thing.
You gonna say next he photoshopped what he sent me and made up the whole story

With or without transparency, the rate determination would still be resulting from truck to load ratio at a given time and area. With transparency, the negotiation process would assume more rational character.

I’m asking what you would consider a fair rate to put 7k on your trailer and go 900 miles, or what you would need to haul 7k pounds 900 miles for me.

    Siinman Thanks this.

Because brokers can bid lower, just like a carrier can.
But that doesn't fit your preconception for your example so you just ignore it.

    Siinman and GreenPete359 Thank this.
