That would be because TA doesn't want trainer/trainee trucks running as teams. They want the trainer to actually be able to train. Granted, their training program is rough on a previously experienced driver who just needs a refresher, but from what I've seen, newly graduated students could do alot worse. I've always wanted to be a trainer, but steered away from it because I don't want team runs first day out with a new driver. When am I supposed to help a new driver with his shifting, trip planning, etc., etc. if I gotta sleep during most of his drive time?
