My advice: If you know anyone there that you know who can access your DAC, ask them to e-mail it or send it to your address. Also, Transport America for compensation for firing you at terminal located farther than the one you mentioned that was closer. If not, contact the rental car agencies and ask for their cheapest one-way rates. Finally, when doing this, keep a positive attitude as you'll get farther. Yes it hurts to get fired but in the end, there will always be something better around the corner.

I haven't been a company driver for 25 years. Please, someone explain to me how a company "puts you out" 900 miles from home? Do they call the police or DOT or when you pull on a scale they tell you to get out of the truck and leave it in a parking lot, scale house, truck stop, or a shipper's yard, or ??? Not to be a smart ###, I just don't comprehend how this is done/enforced/carried out.

Sorry to say, but I honestly find it VERY difficult to believe that any company would go to the trouble and expense to put a driver out of their equipment in a location outside of their control without an extraordinarily strong reason. Is it possible that there is more to the story than is being told?

I would like the opportunity to reform my opinion if I get a satisfactory explanation... thank you

    Mark,

I've seen several posts on this very subject. Companies can and will do it, they don't care about the driver, just the truck.

Most larger Companies have multible terminals and they will send you a msg on your QC to go to the terminal and ask for so and so, once in the gate they usually ask for the keys and tell you why. Most companies use the safety directors to swing the axe because drivers will just assume they are up for a random drug screen.

Many companies use driver terminations to reposition equipment. Not enough trucks for the new hires at terminal XYZ? No problem, route all terminations to that terminal. The company I work for doesn't do that because all trucks are assigned to a specific terminal.

The QC does track your every move. Also all they had to do is compare his payroll to his log. No unload yet he has submitted a signed BOL.

If you drive for a company, run it like you log it and log it like you run it.

Some companies have certain things they consider on the spot terminations. I drvie for knight for instance and if you are placed OOS for a steer tire that you should have caught during your PTI, pack your stuff because you'll never move that truck again. From the way the OP sounds this company has a real hard on for zero tolerance with the HOS. The minute someone reviewed his log for that day he was done.

A lot just cancel the fuel card so you go no further regardless if at a terminal or not.

They don't "have a hard on" for HOS (LMAO)... at least not as far as I've seen. I think there has to be a bit more than is being stated here to go that far. I've had some of their drivers deliver here. Most are good people and respectable. Some of them, though... you can tell they ate a lot of paint chips as a child. LOL
