Well for the most part in finished up here in oak creek. Tomorrow I have to take the truck back in the morning, pick up my first paycheck, and then get my fuel card, then they take me off to the shuttle bus to head down to ohare to fly back to Cincinnati. I'll do a day or two down there training with they local guy Bruce and then should get my first dispatch come Monday.
After learning about how they book their loads and three average they book their return loads at, I'm extremely excited to get running.

Todays update is bit on the sad side. No ive not been fired.
I got news late last-night, my Uncle passed away suddenly last night. They described it as a "massive cardiac event". I let my management know expecting to be told that I had to make a choice, however the first thing they asked was if I was ok. Everyone from the payroll manager, to the CEO of the company asked if i was ok. I was dumbfounded. The second thing they said was that if I needed time off for the funeral that it was mine without question.
Originally this morning I was supposed to go in and meet with the risk manager scott, and the hr manager sarah. I was going to be issued my fuel card, and my travel arrangements. Those were issued, Scott took me to my shuttle to O hare, then i flew into Cincinnati, got a rental, and went home. I was going to train tomorrow on OD tank heads for a few days, then get my first dispatch some time next week. Sadly that is placed on hold since the funeral is Monday and im a paul bearer. So ill get in touch with Scott tomorrow, and probably start training on monday.
In the end im absolutely astounded at their level of concern for me and my family.carramrod32, noluck, drvrtech77 and 2 others Thank this. -

That's incredible that your company has your interests foremost throughout this; I think you've made the right leap with that, bro.
I'm here if ya need anything in O H that I could do.

Ok, so here's the latest update.
Thing's for my uncles funeral went to hell, needless to say, there's a special place in hell for people like his wife. His kids are being left with footing the bills for his funeral services.
As for me getting to my truck, I made it to the Cincinnati yard this morning, went to check on my truck and it wouldn't start. They said they put the battery booster on it Thursday, but they couldn't hold a charge to this morning. I managed to get the truck jumped and let it run for about an hour, the a.c. wasn't working and didn't trust it with the batteries so I called into the shop. The shop manager Jeff was "up set". They immediately got it into the shop and I'm supposed up be able to pick it up in the morning then go out on my first dispatch. -
Just got word on my truck, they are replacing all the batteries as 2 of them are bad. And the condenser on the ac system is bad as well.
Airborne Thanks this. -
