    Why is this important?

    because it does two things for our industry;
    1. It stops California from limiting access to the markets, the federal government is the only one who regulates commerce between the states so no more restrictions or harassment based on the truck.
    2. it allows us to do deletes and tunes legally.
    This is maybe the most important bill that has come from congress in the last 50 years.

    so contact your reps and tell them vote for it,

    And letter sent. A legal delete would be a game changer for many many many trucking businesses. Especially if we can have skilled tuners do it. Likely save the industry billions or potentially even trillions a year in downtime, repairs, def and more. And save tens of thousands a year per individual.

    A legal delete? That should bring back a lot of drivers then. That should cure the driver shortage.

    Could you imagine some of the ornery old timers reaction to people that shower at the pumps or go eat at the restaurant while at the fuel island. That might be entertaining.

    Where’s the driver shortage? I see a bunch of buys that would like to add more trucks but can’t get guys but the issue is driver pay shortage. Adding ore drivers is only going to tank the already crappy rates. And for every one old timer you see in his deleted 2015 W900 there will be ten Deleted Cascadias drug out of the junkyard with 2-3 immigrants in each one. Those are the guys who’ll take advantage of it and drive the rates even lower.

    Oh those old timers will lose their #### for real. Then they may go crazy looking for the lunch counter, only to find that every restaurant has been replaced with IHOP. This could be very entertaining.

    A legal delete?
    Better to go back and make engines without emissions altogether, I think.

    This is not possible

    "Provide an historic investment in American auto workers in the form of a 200% tax deduction for wages paid to American auto workers up to $150,000 while preventing any company from using the funds saved for stock buybacks."

    Good effort but money is fungible, thats kinda its whole thing. Also who qualifies as "american auto workers"? Its either too narrow or too broad. Pedro who runs a food truck that only goes to the ford and chevy plants? Or is it ONLY UAW members?

    Not to mention how much of a giveaway to already highly subsidized companies that produce only overpriced crap in the first place this is

    It also is a direct subsidy to car manufacturers. Beyond government picking winners and lovers for the marketplace, there is no way this doesn't just end up lining a few people's pockets.
