Does anyone have any further information in regards to transporting Dodge Ram Vans out of Laredo? I see Swift doing it hot and heavy and some flatbed and hotshot companies. What about the Sprinter Vans? Are the rates decent?

I've never seen that work listed anywhere but I think we can all figure that if Swift has thier hands in it then it is CCCCHHHHEEEEAAAAPPP!

Wagoneers is handling the Sprinter Vans for the most part but I kinda figured that.Terry270 Thanks this. -
I pulled a load of those out of there back in Feb 2014,.. rate was $5500 for 2 vans to Long Island. That was cheap back then,.. (About $2.60mi) but I had a rock star load coming out of Newark and needed to get their fast.
Was a PITA,.. I had to sit for 3 hours waiting on the roll back to come unload the vans off me at the staging lot for a dealership. I have ramps and could have easily unloaded them myself. I was forbidden to touch them other than to take off the wheel straps.
Fast forward 2016,.. I imagine the rate is probably 1/2 of that. Texas is tough to get paid well coming out,.. Laredo is notorious for cheap rates. Yes,.. Swift has a yard there with Vans coming in from Mexico.

Ram vans are loaded at Swift's yard in Laredo. Swift handles the whole deal but brokers what they can't haul themselves.

Ive hauled em out plenty of times and it's about the easiest work a flatbed could get. Can't speak for the rate, Swifts rates aren't cheap like you'd assume. An account like this in Laredo is gonna pay for capacity. There's a few thousand vans parked at the terminal waiting to be shipped out every day. What other carrier has the capacity to handle that, Chrysler is paying for that accommodation.
How much of those rates will Swift choose to pass on through their brokering...maybe not much but at least you know JMoyes is still making good money off of you.
I would always unload myself if I had ramps. If not, call a wrecker about an hour to hour and a half before you were due in and tell them when to be there. Only had to wait around on them once. -
