I showed up at 2:30 for a 2pm appointment at a customer. Customer stopped receiving at 2pm and would not authorize overtime for employees to unload me, so I had to spend the weekend at a hotel and deliver on Mon am.
Trapped at Dollar General, missed appointment time.

If this happened to me I would walk into the store and say $100 bucks to the person that unloads my truck.
Let's see if they still won't unload you.Another Canadian driver, JC1971 and nredfor88 Thank this. -

Sounds to me like they never had the space to take the product and are using you as free storage and you provided them with the excuse. Kinda ridiculous that 20 minutes after appointment is considered late I always figured most places have a 30-60 minute leeway. Heck even most Costco’s give you a 30 min leeway.

If it was a local store you'd have better luck.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Had a similar situation happen to me a few years ago with dry cereal at a grocery warehouse. I pulled into the middle of the lot, opened my doors and started tossing cases out on the ground. After two skids were dumped on the ground, I got a door and was unloaded in 30 minutes. Needless to say i'm still banned from that warehouse.
